New Life in the New Year

December 31, 2017

"New Year's Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand. Only dreams give birth to change."

Sarah Ban Breathnach
Finally. After taking nearly a year to "let go of the things that I no longer need, to make room for the things that I want," I am feeling an energy of newness, of lightness, of loving-lifeness. Last Spring, I let go of a relationship that wasn't serving either of the parties. During Summer, I let go of my mother as she passed into spirit. In the Fall, I let go of my former home. Boom! Boom! Boom!
This past year, it sometimes felt as though life was "happening" to me - a strange feeling for a life coach who counts herself among the experts in the art and science of Creative Manifestation. Let me clarify. There is no victim here; I was an active and willing participant in all of these situations. And yet, it sometimes felt like I was merely along for the ride. As though the Universe was steering me - compelling me - towards the vast unknown!
And that's a topic you simply won't find in most Law of Attraction books.

"We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us." Joseph Campbell

You might think of "the one that is waiting for us" as the life that your higher self - the Higher Soul - planned, long before you were born. "The one that is waiting for us" may include no relationship at all, ever. It may include awkward family dynamics with no mother to bring everyone together during the holidays. It may include a rent figure that seemed out of reach just a few months ago. Those are things that the Incarnated Soul would never have planned. No one in their right mind would agree to such things!
And yet, the beauty is that there is a Higher Plan for the Higher Soul. "The one that is waiting for us" includes blessings that we cannot imagine. It includes inner work and spiritual growth that, in hindsight, we greatly appreciate. It includes the gifts of a broader and higher perspective.
The trick is, to trust that a Higher Plan exists. Even in the midst of turmoil and chaos (some of you may recall you remember what I wrote a couple of months ago, about flailing about on the threshing floor). If I stop flailing about, I can sense it.
And thank goodness I did. I became still and heeded the wise, inner voice. The voice of my Higher Soul. Along the way I paid attention to the many synchronicities and signs that came my way. I did my best to remain "in the flow" as the Universe steered me safely to my Here and Now.
So, New Year's Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. I am so ready for this! What about you?
