Adventures with Spirit

Because I am a professional medium and intuitive life coach, people often ask me how communication with Spirit works: "What's it like?" "Do you hear Spirit the same way you hear me?” “Have you been doing this your whole life?"
And because I have an extensive family history of mediums and spiritual healers, people sometimes assume that I was born with some special ability they don’t possess - which simply isn’t true. Everyone has the ability to communicate with Spirit!
Spirit speaks in many ways
I think this misconception is so prevalent because people expect the clouds to part, a beam of bright light to shine down, and a thundering and unmistakably Divine voice to speak very clearly in great detail. And it does happen that way - occasionally. More often, however, Spirit communicates with us in subtle ways, like these:
- A thought simply comes into your awareness and it’s not your thought.
- You hear a sound (like a chime, or a whisper), but not with your physical ears.
- A significant date - perhaps a birthday or anniversary of a dearly departed loved one - shows up (on your phone, the clock, or a license plate) and the current day "happens to be" your birthday or another important day in your life.
- You find a penny or feather on the ground (or a meaningful song comes on the radio, or the lights flicker strangely) right when you’re thinking about someone or something special.
- You smell a familiar scent (like the perfume of a favorite person from your childhood who is now in spirit), yet no perfume and no person is anywhere near you.
Most of the time, Spirit communication is very subtle. We miss it if we aren’t paying attention, or we don’t know what to look for. And we often second-guess it, or analyze it away.
The good news is that you can develop your intuitive, psychic, and mediumistic abilities. You can learn how to recognize, understand, and apply these natural talents and skills, and experience greater meaning and fulfillment that they bring to your life.
